The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The Siberian roe deer inhabits extensive temperate Asian areas, using forests, scrub and open feeding grounds. It was formerly treated as a European roe deer subspecies, but research led to recognition as a separate species.
It feeds on available herbs, leaves, shoots and grasses. Food composition changes seasonally. During breeding males defend territories and follow females. After fertilisation embryonic development pauses temporarily. This diapause places births in a period favourable for rearing.
The female often bears twins that initially remain sheltered. Care and nursing continue over subsequent months. In part of the range animals use farmland but still need quiet retreats. Connections between forest and feeding areas matter for daily movements and reducing road collisions.
