The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The mountain goat inhabits western North American mountains. Hooves with hard rims and soft, gripping centres help on steep cliffs. Rocks provide escape routes from predators.
It eats grasses, sedges, herbs, mosses and lichens. Alpine vegetation supplies summer food, while sheltered slopes offer accessible winter forage. In spring it may visit mineral-rich sites. In Kenai Fjords some animals also descend near the coast.
Females and young form groups; adult males more often live alone outside the mating season. A female usually gives birth to a single kid in a secluded place. The youngster soon begins following her along rocky passages.
Pokarm obejmuje przede wszystkim trawy, turzyce, zioła, mchy i porosty.
