The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The Moluccan babirusa occurs on Buru, Taliabu and Mangole in Indonesia. Accounts from Buru associate it mainly with mountainous forested terrain away from settlements. Ecological knowledge is scarce and comes largely from local communities' reports rather than long-term field studies.
Listed foods include leaves, shoots, tubers and fruit. Bathing in puddles and rivers has been described, as in other babirusas. Most reported encounters occur in the morning and late afternoon.
Solitary individuals and small groups have been observed. Distinctively denser hair separates it from the Sulawesi babirusa. Even the role of tusks in male interactions remains partly based on interpretations of wear marks.
