The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
Hexabranchus sanguineus, called a Spanish dancer, has a broad red-orange mantle with an undulating edge. Branched gills project from the rear of its body. It swims by moving its mantle folds.
It lives in warm marine waters, including reefs, where it feeds on sponges. A 2023 revision divided the former broadly defined species into several distinct species; not every Spanish dancer therefore belongs to H. sanguineus.
Punkt skali: 25 cm. W rewizji rodzaju z 2023 r. opisano okaz MB28-005033 o długości 250 mm. WWF podaje do 40 cm w tradycyjnym ujęciu gatunku.
