The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The yellow-breasted capuchin has dark fur on its head and back and contrasting golden or yellowish areas on its chest and forelimbs. Males are larger than females. Strong hands and its tail help it move skilfully between branches.
It occurs in eastern Brazil's Atlantic Forest region. It feeds actively, searching the canopy and various retreats. It supplements fruit with seeds, invertebrates, eggs and other available food. It lives in groups with distinct social relationships. Calls, gestures and mutual grooming help maintain bonds.
The species' survival depends on preserving remaining forest and reducing hunting; separated habitat fragments hinder exchanges of individuals between populations.
