The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) inhabits forests, scrub and edges of open land in the Americas. Summer coats are redder and winter coats greyer. Its tail is particularly distinctive: raised during escape, its white underside provides a visible signal to other deer.
It feeds on leaves, shoots, herbs, acorns and crops, usually around dawn and dusk. Its ability to use farmland and suburban landscapes allows it to live near people where food and cover are available.
Males shed antlers after the mating season and regrow them in the next cycle. Females conceal young in sheltered vegetation, where they may remain motionless while their mothers are away.
Na wspólnej planszy używamy 90 cm w barku. Użyto dolnej opublikowanej granicy 90 cm dla zwykłej dorosłej sylwetki; poroże nie wpływa na skalę.
