Viviparous lizard — size comparison — facts and sources
The viviparous lizard (Zootoca vivipara) inhabits moist, cool habitats in Europe and northern Asia, including wet meadows, peatlands, heathland and forest edges.
It can live in cooler habitats than many other lizards. Basking alternates with concealment among plants and beneath dead wood.
It eats insects, spiders and other small invertebrates. Many populations give birth to live young, while egg-laying populations occur in parts of the range.
