The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The tufted deer inhabits mountain forests where dense undergrowth provides shelter. It uses places with access to water and forest paths.
It eats leaves, young shoots, fruit and grasses. It selects food close to the forest floor and in lower vegetation layers. The availability of particular plants depends on slope position, season and local forest conditions.
It usually lives alone or in pairs, using the cover of the forest undergrowth. When alarmed it gives barking calls. Males maintain associations with particular areas, and encounters between them may involve competition.
