The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The tufted capuchin lives in forests of northern South America. The name Sapajus apella formerly also covered other capuchins now recognised as separate species. It moves through trees on all four limbs, climbs and leaps between branches.
It is omnivorous. It eats fruit and seeds but also searches for invertebrates and other small animals. While feeding it tears plant material and checks retreats that may contain food. Powerful jaws help it use resources less accessible to more delicately built capuchins.
Social life involves groups, mutual grooming and juvenile play. Group rank affects access to preferred foods. Males may change groups, while females form a more enduring core.
