The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The Iberian ibex occurs on the Iberian Peninsula, with a history including both local disappearances and later recovery. The extinct Pyrenean subspecies does not represent the fate of the whole species. Surviving populations still occupy mountains and Mediterranean landscapes where rocks adjoin food vegetation.
Its menu changes seasonally: besides grasses and herbs it uses leaves, shoots and acorns. Males and females often stay apart outside mating. Autumn male competition increases encounters between groups. The female gives birth in a quiet place, and offspring soon follow her along slopes.
Disease, human disturbance and changing pasture quality affect local populations. Herd recovery has also involved moving animals into former refuges.
