Sei whale — size comparison — facts and sources

The sei whale chiefly inhabits temperate and subpolar ocean waters. It has a slender body and a pronounced, curved dorsal fin. It is most often alone or in small groups.

It eats copepods, krill and small fish. It can filter food while continuously swimming near the surface, passing water through baleen. Feeding methods vary with prey type and density. Its name comes from the Norwegian word for saithe, a fish occurring seasonally in similar waters.
