Sambar — size comparison — facts and sources

The sambar is a large deer of tropical and subtropical Asian forests, often found near wetlands and water. Adult males have dark brown coats, powerful maned necks and strong antlers, usually with six main points. The coat darkens and the mane becomes more pronounced with age.

It eats leaves, grasses, fruit, bark and aquatic plants. It often feeds at dusk, moving between forest and wet feeding areas. Adult males may be solitary. An alarmed sambar gives a loud call warning of a detected threat.

Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle podaje 1,5 m w kłębie i masę do 350 kg. Te 150 cm przyjmujemy bezpośrednio jako punkt planszy. Poroże znajduje się wyżej, ale nie bierze udziału w skalowaniu.
