The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The reticulated giraffe (Giraffa reticulata) comes from northern Kenya, southern Ethiopia and Somalia. It inhabits dry savannas and open woodland. A regular mosaic of chestnut patches divided by pale lines creates its characteristic appearance. A long neck and tall legs reach tree crowns.
It chiefly browses leaves and young shoots of trees and shrubs, reaching food unavailable to many shorter herbivores. It forms loose groups with changing membership. Individual patch patterns allow recognition over repeated observations.
