The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The red river hog (Potamochoerus porcus) is a colourful pig of West and Central African forests. Reddish hair contrasts with a pale mane, dark mask and white facial markings. It also uses swamps, scrub and riverbanks.
Omnivorous, it seeks roots, fruit, seeds, invertebrates and small vertebrates, chiefly on the forest floor under dense cover. It swims well, so water is not an impassable obstacle during travel.
It most often lives in family groups and feeds at night. Ear and ear-tuft movements contribute to visual communication alongside other social signals.
Dzik rzeczny żyje w wilgotnych lasach i zaroślach, zwykle niedaleko wody. Animal Diversity Web podaje 50–90 cm wysokości w barku oraz 46–130 kg masy. Plansza używa 75 cm, a biała grzywa i frędzle uszu pozostają poza pomiarem.
