The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The red goral inhabits mountain landscapes at the boundary of South and East Asia. It uses forests, scrub, meadows and rocky cliffs. It may stay higher in summer and descend as snow arrives.
It feeds on leaves, shoots, grasses and lichens. It is an adept climber and escapes towards steep rocks when threatened. It feeds by day and may choose sheltered rocky ledges for the night. Such resting sites restrict access for some predators.
Animals usually occur alone or in small groups, often a mother with offspring. Males show territoriality during breeding. Communication includes whistles and other calls. Observations on difficult-to-access slopes remain few.
