The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The red-eyed tree frog is an arboreal amphibian of Central America's humid forests. Its green back conceals it among leaves, while red eyes, coloured flanks and bright toes are distinctive. Long limbs and toe pads help it travel along thin branches and smooth plant surfaces.
By day it usually rests on leaves with its bright body parts concealed. Hunting is chiefly nocturnal. It searches vegetation for insects and other small invertebrates.
Females place eggs on leaves overhanging water. Hatchlings drop into the water to continue developing. Only after metamorphosis do they begin arboreal life.
