The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The quokka lives in southwestern Australia and nearby islands. On the mainland dense scrub providing cover is particularly important.
It feeds mainly at night, eating leaves, grasses and other plants. It obtains some of its water from food. During dry periods resource availability affects movement. By day it usually rests in sheltered places where it can more easily avoid heat and danger.
The young develops in the female's pouch and still needs care after leaving it. Animals gather near water or abundant food, forming changing aggregations. Safe scrub and reduced pressure from introduced predators are particularly important to mainland populations.
