The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The Madagascar giant day gecko comes from northern Madagascar and is a large diurnal gecko. Red spots and a snout-to-eye stripe decorate its bright green body. A long tail balances movement through plants, while expanded toes support vertical climbing.
It watches for small invertebrates on trees and other vegetation. Insects are its chief food, supplemented by fruit and sweet plant parts.
Adult males may reach approximately thirty centimetres including the tail. Females usually lay two eggs at a time and repeat breeding in favourable conditions.
