The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The yellow-bellied glider has a darker back, pale belly and membrane between its limbs. It inhabits eastern Australian eucalypt forests. At night it glides between trees, cuts bark for sap and maintains family contact with loud calls.
It eats tree sap, nectar, pollen and invertebrates. A family shelter may occupy a leaf-lined tree hollow.
The gliding membrane extends between wrists and ankles, its tension changing with limb position. The tail assists steering and balance.
