The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The northern hairy-nosed wombat is associated with semi-arid, open Queensland landscapes. It spends much time in deep burrows, emerging mainly to feed. Extensive tunnels may have several entrances and use tree roots that stabilise the soil.
It is a grass-eating herbivore. It feeds mostly at night, using smell and hearing when moving outside its burrow. Plant availability depends on rainfall and competition from other herbivores. Burrow cover allows rest away from heat, while emerging after dark limits time on hot ground.
Solitary animals are most often observed. Successive generations may use the burrows. The female gives birth to one offspring that stays in the pouch for a long time and continues taking milk afterwards. Rains promoting grass growth may affect rearing conditions.
nos → nasada ogona; ogon wyłączony. ADW: średnio około 1 m długości ciała; oś głowa–tułów wyklucza krótki ogon. Źródło nie opisuje protokołu pomiaru ani barku. Punkt odpowiada średniej przytoczonej przez źródło; kwalifikatory określają jej zakres. Wysokość obrysu wynika z proporcji ilustracji; przód jest przybliżoną projekcją.
