The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The greater bulldog bat occurs over tropical waters in Central America, the Caribbean and South America. Large hind feet with sharp claws catch fish just below the water surface. It hunts fish and insects using echolocation.
It usually emerges to feed at dusk or at night. It may fly low over a pond, river or coastal water and seize prey with its hind feet. It rests in caves, rock crevices or tree hollows, sometimes in larger aggregations.
Males usually have reddish fur, while females are greyer or browner. Its broad-muzzled face resembles a bulldog's head.
Przykład 11,5 cm długości głowy i tułowia z zakresu 9,8–13,2 cm podanego w ADW.
