Tragelaphus buxtoni
The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The mountain nyala occurs only in the Ethiopian Highlands, in mountain forests, heathland and alpine meadows. Adult males are larger, darker and more heavily haired than females. They carry widely spreading spiral horns. Pale stripes and spots may be faint.
It eats grasses, leaves, shoots and herbs. Females form small groups, while older males are often solitary. The entire population depends on preserving a restricted area of Ethiopian mountain habitat.
