Madagascar day gecko — size comparison — facts and sources

The Madagascar day gecko (Phelsuma madagascariensis) is a diurnal lizard of eastern Madagascar. It inhabits trees in humid forests and farmland. Green skin with red markings distinguishes it from many grey-brown nocturnal geckos.

Raised positions on trunks and leaves provide both basking places and viewpoints for small prey. Toe pads permit climbing vertical surfaces and movement between feeding sites.

It eats arthropods, fruit and nectar. It may obtain water from droplets on plants.
