The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The large flying fox is a large fruit-eating bat with an elongated muzzle and membranous wings. It spends the day in colonies in tall trees and leaves to feed at dusk. It uses fruit and flowers, including nectar and pollen. While feeding it carries plant material between trees and helps disperse seeds.
Individuals communicate loudly in colonies. They rest hanging from branches, wrapping their wings around the body. Feeding sites change with seasonal fruit and flower availability.
