Dama dama
The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The fallow deer (Dama dama) is associated with open woodland, clearings and meadows. A long history of human transport has established it across Europe and in many introduced ranges on other continents. Mature males have broad, palmate antlers.
It eats grasses, leaves, shoots, fruit and acorns. Feeding grounds adjoining tree cover are favoured, including parks and extensive wooded areas. Diet varies with season and plant availability.
Fallow deer may form groups whose organisation varies with the season. Males shed antlers annually and regrow them before the next breeding period. Colour varies widely: alongside the familiar spotted coat are much darker and lighter individuals.
Na wspólnej planszy używamy 90 cm w barku. Plansza używa dolnej wartości 90 cm z podanego dla samców zakresu; łopatowate poroże pozostaje wyłącznie cechą wizualną.
