The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The European roe deer is a common inhabitant of Polish forests, meadows and fields. It favours a mosaic of woodland and open ground where it can feed and quickly retreat into cover. Bucks carry small antlers shed annually, and the distinctive white rump patch helps animals follow one another when fleeing.
Roe deer select young shoots, herbs and leaves more selectively than large grazing cattle. They may form loose groups in winter, while adult males defend territories in the breeding season. Roe deer exhibit delayed implantation: the embryo remains dormant for several months before rapid development begins.
Young have white spots that disappear during their first months of life.
Animal Diversity Web podaje 66–83,3 cm w barku; plansza używa reprezentatywnych 75 cm, wyłączając poroże i uszy.
