Straw-coloured fruit bat — size comparison — facts and sources

The straw-coloured fruit bat inhabits forests and wooded savannas in sub-Saharan Africa. It has large eyes, an elongated muzzle and straw-coloured neck and shoulder fur.

It roosts socially, sometimes in large tree colonies. At night smaller parties forage in forests and fruit-growing areas. It eats fruit and flowers, chiefly extracting fruit juice and discarding some fibrous pulp. Long flights connect seasonally available feeding grounds.

Przykład 17,9 cm z zakresu 14,3–21,5 cm podanego w Animal Diversity Web.
