The Dorcas gazelle inhabits dry North African landscapes. It uses desert valleys and places with scattered vegetation patches.
It feeds on leaves, flowers, pods and other plant parts. It can use food at different levels, including underground plant parts. Much of its water requirement may come from food.
In hot weather activity shifts to cooler hours. Pairs, females with young and male groups occur. Gathering membership changes with resources and season.
