Delacour’s langur — size comparison — facts and sources

Delacour's langur has black fur, pale whiskers and a broad white band covering its hips and thighs. It has a crest on its head and a long, densely furred, non-prehensile tail. Newborns have orange coats that darken with age.

It is associated with limestone massifs in northern Vietnam. It moves over rocky ledges and among trees and sleeps in sheltered places on rocks or in caves. Leaves are its staple food, and a complex stomach supports their digestion. Groups usually contain an adult male, females and young.

Small, separated populations are particularly vulnerable to hunting, forest loss and limestone extraction.
