The coppery titi has a grey-brown back and distinctly reddish cheeks, chest and belly. Its long, bushy tail helps it balance but is not prehensile. It lives in western Amazonian forests. Older works also grouped forms now recognised as separate species under the name Callicebus cupreus.
Fruit forms an important part of its food, supplemented by leaves and small invertebrates among other items. It moves among branches, often remaining in sheltered forest layers. A pair and their offspring form a small family group. Partners maintain close contact, sometimes resting with their tails intertwined. The male plays an important role in carrying the infant.
