The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The clouded leopard is a secretive cat of tropical and subtropical forests in mainland Asia. Large, irregular, dark-edged patches resemble clouds. Short, strong legs and broad paws provide a firm grip on branches, while a long tail helps balance.
Mobile ankle joints allow it to climb skilfully and descend trunks head first. It also travels on the ground, where some prey is caught. It hunts mammals and birds under dense forest cover. Usually solitary, its secretive behaviour makes extended observations in the wild difficult. It is a separate species from the Sunda clouded leopard of Borneo and Sumatra.
