The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The yellow-footed tortoise inhabits humid tropical South American forests. It has an elongated brown shell and yellowish head and limb markings. Resemblance to the red-footed tortoise means colour alone is insufficient for secure identification: shell structure and scute arrangement also matter.
It travels near the forest floor, often in shade and cooler parts of the day. Fruit, fungi, leaves and flowers are supplemented by small invertebrates. Fallen fruit ties its life to seasonal tree-fruiting rhythms.
Females lay eggs in soil. Eating fruit and travelling through forests also contributes to seed dispersal.
Mierzymy odcinek: przedni → tylny brzeg pancerza, po prostej. Przykład 35 cm prostej długości pancerza, poniżej 45 cm w karcie Zoo de Guadeloupe. Prostą oś CL potwierdza metodologia Barros i in.
