The Diana monkey inhabits West African tropical forests. Dark fur contrasts with a white beard, throat and thigh stripe. It is active by day, travels chiefly through tree crowns and warns its group of danger vocally.
It eats fruit, leaves and invertebrates. A group includes adult females, their offspring and a male defending the shared area. Interaction uses calls as well as facial and postural signals. Through play, young practise agile movement along branches.
