Bryde’s whale — size comparison — facts and sources

Bryde’s whale occurs in warm coastal and oceanic waters. Three lengthwise ridges on the snout help distinguish it from most other rorquals. It remains associated with warmer waters throughout the year.

It eats schooling fish, krill and other small organisms. It often feeds alone, making sharp turns and lunges into prey concentrations. Baleen separates food from water. Feeding-ground distribution influences local movements.
