The bezoar goat occupies an important place in domestication history. Its populations are among the ancestors of the domestic goat, which has accompanied people for millennia. The wild form still lives in the mountains of Western Asia and the Caucasus.
It selects grasses, herbs, leaves and shoots according to season. Females with young more often form groups, while males may use different landscape areas outside mating periods. During breeding, encounters and competition change the animals' daily rhythm.
The young follow their mothers early, learning routes between rocks and grazing places. Hunting and competition with livestock restrict some populations. Maintaining connections between isolated refuges also matters.
Wykorzystuje skaliste zbocza oraz sąsiadujące z nimi żerowiska. Dobiera trawy, zioła, liście i pędy w zależności od sezonu. Samice z młodymi częściej tworzą grupy, natomiast samce poza okresem godowym mogą korzystać z innych części krajobrazu. Podczas rozrodu spotkania i rywalizacja zmieniają codzienny rytm zwierząt.
