The aye-aye is a nocturnal, tree-dwelling primate of Madagascar. It occurs in various forest habitats and also on plantations. Large ears, continuously growing incisors and an exceptionally thin middle finger form a specialised set of feeding tools. The face and throat are paler, the eyes amber and the bushy tail almost black.
It taps wood, listening for hollow spaces, then gnaws through the bark and extracts larvae. It also eats seeds, fruit, nectar and fungi. It is usually solitary.
ADW: głowa i tułów 360–440 mm; ogon osobno. Punkt planszy nie jest średnią populacji, chyba że źródło podaje średnią. Przód jest przybliżoną projekcją.
