The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The red-faced spider monkey has slender limbs, black fur and a prehensile tail. It lives in northeastern Amazonian rainforests. The tail provides additional support when reaching for food or hanging. Hands and feet grip branches, while long arms assist swinging between supports.
The larger group splits during the day into small parties travelling through tree crowns for fruit. It also eats leaves and seeds. Feeding parties may be larger during fruit abundance than in the dry season.
