The three-striped night monkey is a nocturnal monkey of northern Amazonian tropical forests. It has large eyes, a pale face with dark stripes and a long, non-prehensile tail. Older accounts grouped several now-distinct species under this name.
It seeks fruit and small animals among branches, using sight and smell. It lives in family groups in which older offspring may remain with their parents. The group defends its area through calls and warning behaviour. Besides fruit and insects it eats nectar and leaves.
