Antarctic minke whale — size comparison — facts and sources
The Antarctic minke whale lives in the Southern Ocean, also using waters among sea ice. It is a small, agile baleen whale able to travel through gaps and channels between ice floes.
It feeds chiefly on Antarctic krill, entering aggregations and filtering prey through baleen. Seasonal ice changes and food distribution influence movements between Antarctic and subantarctic waters.
