Scardinius erythrophthalmus
od pyska do końca płetwy ogonowejMeasurement: side
The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The rudd has reddish fins, golden sides and a slightly upturned mouth. It resembles the roach, but its dorsal fin starts farther back relative to the pelvic fins. It readily uses overgrown margins of still waters.
It eats plant material and small animals, including insects reaching the surface. Its slightly upturned mouth helps catch food above it. During spawning, eggs adhere to vegetation.
