Spotted moray — size comparison — facts and sources

The spotted moray lives in the western Atlantic, in rock crevices and other shelters near the bottom. Dark spots cover its elongated body. Its head often remains visible at the shelter entrance.

It hunts fish and crustaceans. Undulating movements of the whole body allow movement between rocks; pectoral fins are absent. Its flexible shape gives access to spaces that stockier fish cannot enter.

Długość całkowita (TL): od końca pyska do końca płetwy ogonowej. Punkt równy źródłowej długości zwykle spotykanej, nie średnia populacji. Widoki są ilustracjami o przybliżonych proporcjach.
