The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The zebra jumping spider occurs in temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere. It is often seen on warm walls, fences and tree trunks. Large forward-facing eyes help it track moving prey in bright daylight.
It hunts actively, without a capture web. After spotting an insect it approaches carefully, positions its body and makes a short leap. Before jumping it attaches a safety thread to the surface.
Males display their front legs and elongated chelicerae during courtship and encounters with rivals. The female lays her eggs in a silk retreat.
