Gerberian Shepsky (German Shepherd × Siberian Husky) — size comparison — facts and sources

The Gerberian Shepsky is a German Shepherd–Siberian Husky cross. It often has upright ears, dense hair and an athletic, slightly elongated body. Colour may resemble either parent. Eye colour, head width and tail fullness also vary, so there is no appearance shared by every Shepsky.

The name combines breeds with markedly different histories. The German Shepherd developed from herding dogs and gained broad service roles. The Husky was selected for sustained sled running. Crossing them produces dogs with varied aptitudes, without a shared standard fixing one working type.

Offspring may be energetic, attentive and strongly attached to people. Some show clear enthusiasm for tasks with a handler; others favour independent exploration. Pursuit interest, alertness and howling tendencies also differ. A Husky’s wolf-like appearance cannot be assumed always to combine with a Shepherd’s responsiveness to direction.
