Schnoodle (Miniature Schnauzer × Miniature Poodle) — size comparison — facts and sources

Schnoodle names a cross between a Schnauzer and Poodle; this profile concerns their miniature varieties. The dog may have a pronounced beard, bushy eyebrows and wavy or curly hair. Ear shape, muzzle length and body proportions depend on inherited traits. Coat texture is not uniform across this cross.

The Miniature Schnauzer descends from farm dogs that sounded the alarm and helped control rodents. The Poodle has waterfowl-retrieving roots, although smaller varieties have long served chiefly as companions. The name Schnoodle combines these origins but encompasses different lines and generations of crosses.

Offspring may be quick to learn, active and eager to join shared activities. Schnauzer alertness may appear as rapid reactions to sounds, while interest in learning may help with new tasks. The strength of these behaviours varies. Dogs also differ in openness to unfamiliar people and willingness to investigate independently.
