The Amazonian horned frog lives in damp leaf litter in Amazonian forests. It has a stocky body, very broad mouth and tall, horn-like projections above the eyes.
Green, brown and irregular blotches camouflage the motionless frog among leaves. It waits concealed for invertebrates and small vertebrates, catching them with a sudden movement when they come within reach.
