Brush-tailed phascogale — size comparison — facts and sources
The brush-tailed phascogale is a predatory marsupial with a grey back, pale belly and conspicuous ears. Long black hairs form a broad tail-tip brush. It searches trees for insects, spiders and other small animals. Food may also include vertebrates, with nectar supplementing its diet.
It communicates with neighbours through scent marks. When disturbed it vocalises and may move forefeet and tail in alarm-related ways. Females may defend their area while tolerating daughters.
