The Palawan stink badger has dark brown fur and a paler head patch continuing into a short shoulder stripe. Its tail is short and ears inconspicuous. Despite its name it belongs to the skunk family.
The source describes chiefly daytime activity and mostly solitary travel. A strong sense of smell and powerful forefeet locate food. Its elongated snout explores substrate and claws dig through it. Strong-smelling gland secretions provide important defence; scent marks are also left along its route.
