Miniature Bull Terrier — size comparison — facts and sources

The Miniature Bull Terrier retains the distinctive egg-shaped head, small erect ears and strong musculature of the larger Bull Terrier. It has a short coat, small triangular eyes and a compact body. The head's profile curves gently towards the nose without a pronounced stop. Despite its smaller height, its build remains strong and proportionate.

Small Bull Terriers were known in the nineteenth century. Their popularity declined before the First World War, and they were removed from Britain's breed register in 1918. Restoration began with enthusiasts led by Colonel Richard Glyn, who founded the Miniature Bull Terrier Club in 1938. The miniature standard was based on Bull Terrier characteristics, chiefly introducing a height limit.

The Miniature Bull Terrier is usually courageous, exuberant and very interested in people. It can engage in play with enormous enthusiasm, often proposing another activity itself. It can be stubborn and strongly committed to its own idea, even when a person would like to stop. With those close to it, it often shows considerable affection and directly seeks contact. It can be assertive with other dogs and clearly express its intentions.
