The scale compares the named dimensions. View direction and measurement points are given for each animal.
The Kazakh Tazy is a slender, long-legged sighthound with a fine head and drooping ears covered in silky hair. Longer hair also adorns its tail, while most of the body has a shorter coat. A deep chest and tucked-up belly emphasise its athletic build. When running it can accelerate quickly and change direction efficiently.
The Tazy is associated with nomadic communities of Central Asia and holds a special place in Kazakhstan's culture. The tradition of the 'Seven Treasures' includes it as a valued companion and human helper. It hunted varied game alone, in groups and in cooperation with hunting birds. Its history therefore combines long journeys with work over vast open spaces.
In everyday surroundings the Tazy is usually calm and unobtrusive. It may keep its distance from strangers while forming a clear bond with those close to it. It quickly assesses what it sees and makes its own decisions. Spotted game can instantly capture its attention; it uses scent as well as sight. Composure at rest then gives way to great energy and very purposeful movement.
