The giraffe weevil is a beetle of Madagascar’s tropical forests. Males have a characteristic elongated neck, much longer than the female’s, which they use during competition.
The female prepares a rolled leaf in which offspring develop. It provides both shelter and food for the young insect. Its life therefore depends closely on plants suitable for feeding and preparing a site for the next generation.
